ADXC 3: ATHLETES AND ORGANIZERS ANSWER THE CROWD AT THE PRESS CONFERENCE

February 29, 2024

Continuing with the intense week of events at Balneário Camboriú Fight Week (BC Fight Week), ADXC held the press conference for ADXC3, an event that takes place next Saturday, March 2nd. This Thursday, February 29th, the athletes from the main fights, as well as the organizers of the show, were present on the ExpoCentro stage to talk more about the emotions that await Jiu-Jitsu and Grappling fans.

Tareq Al-Bahri, General Manager of International Vision Sports Management (IVSM), emphasized the significance of cooperation between the UAE and Brazil in developing the sport of jiu-jitsu and elevating it to new heights while enhancing its global reach. He also highlighted Abu Dhabi's prowess as the world capital of combat sports, noting its excellence in turning aspirations into reality.

"Today, as we stand in the heart of Balneário Camboriú, I am filled with pride and happiness. Under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has emerged as a global sports leader. Nurturing over one thousand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaches and embracing over five thousand family members, our commitment has extended beyond hosting more than three hundred annual events all over the world, including a significant number here in Brazil. Thanks to the full support of our Chairman, Abdulmunem Alsayedmohamed Alhashmi, and the encouragement we receive, from partners and friends, is dream has become a reality. ADXC was just a dream a few months ago, but dreams come true when you have the courage to follow them. Now, here in Brazil for ADXC 3, part of BC Fight Week, this is our big moment. Balneário Camboriú, thank youfrom the bottom of my heart."

The mayor of Balneário Camboriú, Fabricio Oliveira, spoke about the importance of the synergy between Abu Dhabi and Balneário Camboriú, with plans to implement even more advances for local young people through sport and the culture of respect that martial arts can provide.

"I've already practiced Jiu-Jitsu in Balneário Camboriú, and I say that Jiu-Jitsu is not just a sport, but a culture. It's part of the Abu Dhabi lifestyle, and I was invited to see up close the excellence that the people of Abu Dhabi treat Jiu-Jitsu and organize events like this. The union of Balneário Camboriú with Abu Dhabi shows that the sport is capable of overcoming any geographical barriers."

Among the athletes, the highlight was the rivalry between Jansen Gomes and Bruno Lima, who exchanged intense words during the press conference, promising a fighting show for this Saturday's Jiu-Jitsu match. In the Grappling Main Event, Bia Mesquita and Jennifer Maia will bring the best of their skills to the cage, Bia as a multi-time grappling champion, and Jennifer as a high-caliber MMA athlete.

“I participated in many events organized by Abu Dhabi and I knew that the grandeur of ADXC would be no different. It would be even better," said Bia. "Almost a year without competing in grappling, I'm looking forward to putting on a show on Saturday." Jennifer Maia then said: "I took a break from MMA but I'm still competing hard, and being asked to fight at ADXC is very gratifying, especially against an athlete as renowned in Jiu-Jitsu as Bia."

In the duel between Roberto Cyborg and Henrique Ceconi, both athletes preached respect in the exchange of words, but without leaving aside the competitive level between the two. Friends outside the cage, rivals inside it.

"To promote Jiu-Jitsu, you don't need to be disrespectful," said Cyborg. "We've fought before and this doesn't negatively influence our friendship. This is the best way to increase respect between two athletes, to fight aggressively. I hope the cage can withstand our pressure." Ceconi completed his speech: "We've already broken a cage in a training session. Cyborg gets older and increasingly tougher. I learned a lot from him, it's a pleasure to have Cyborg as an odile and to be able to challenge him with total respect. I'm ready to fight at home and deliver 100% in the cage."

ADXC 3's attractions continue this Friday, with the scale challenge at the event's Ceremonial Weigh-In, with the famous pre-fight face-offs. Then, on March 2nd, it's time for the 28 athletes to take action in the ADXC cage. Don't miss the emotions of the event by accessing the card live on TX7.ae.
